Job Description

The Oregon School Employees Association (OSEA) is accepting resumes from individuals who are interested in working for a labor organization in the capacity of government relations specialist. OSEA currently has one government relations specialist position open.

The Oregon School Employees Association is a membership directed labor organization and represents classified employees working in Oregon's K-12 schools, community colleges, Head Starts, educational service districts, parks and recreation and library districts. OSEA is headquartered in Salem Oregon with offices also in Portland and Eugene as well as several field offices located throughout the state of Oregon.

Individuals submitting a resume for this position should include their educational background and work experience. Specifically, resumes should include applicant’s experience and knowledge in the legislative process, interest (labor unions and education) based lobbying, candidate elections, labor unions, collective bargaining, research-analysis, communication and planning.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major study in political science, labor relations, social sciences or related field. Two years of prior political campaign and/or lobbying experience is desirable.

Salary/Benefits

Starting salary $72,864 per year, health benefits, 401(K), dental insurance and employer-provided automobile.

JOB LOCATION:

The open position is located in the State Office in Salem, Oregon. Selected candidate may need to relocate.
