About the Opportunity

The Greenhouse Worker position will assist in specific duties to ensure the overall success of the Nursery Greenhouse Operations. Specific duties will include: leadership responsibility of a specific team, sub-department, sub-function or process.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of Greenhouse Operations Crew.
• Oversight of Greenhouse Operations Program.
• Lead Nursery Greenhouse Operations in the absence of Greenhouse Leadership Team. 
• Lead department meetings as needed. 
• Serve as a mentor, trainer, and/or role model for other Greenhouse Workers. 
• Working on special department projects under the direction of the Greenhouse Operations Manager/Supervisor that may include: data analysis, data collection, field trails, etc. 
• Based on operation needs, any responsibilities listed in the Greenhouse Worker I and/or II classification. 
• Ensures the safe keeping of propriety varieties and confidential information.  
• Follows company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business - like manner in all interactions with employees, government agencies, growers, etc. 
• Performs other duties as assigned by Greenhouse Operations Leadership Team.

Candidate Profile

• •    A minimum of four years of work experience in a similar field or an equivalent combination of higher level education and work experience. 
• •    Previous leadership experience preferred – including the ability to develop, coach and lead a team.
• •    Previous irrigation, chemical application and/or pest monitoring work experience preferred.
• •    Ability to work independently with technology as required.
• •    Candidate must be reliable, disciplined, detail oriented and self-motivated.
• •    Internal candidate needs to be a graduate of the Agronomy101 program.
• •    Basic bilingual communication skills required [English and Spanish].  This includes the ability to communicate via email as needed and likewise lead department meetings.
• •    Basic knowledge of reading, writing and arithmetic required.
• •    Many duties require manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• •    Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds on intermittent bases and possess the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• •    Proven ability to demonstrate the following competencies in the workplace: collaborates, plans & aligns, drives for results, strategic mindset and cultivates innovation.

Compensation & Benefits:
The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted.  The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors. 
The U.S. hourly range estimated for this role is:  $19.57 to $23
